Method
The method is written for 4. For a different number, use the amounts in the table above.
- Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (180°C fan). Cut the chicken thighs into wings, discarding any bones. Season with salt and black pepper. Place the wings in a large bowl.
- In a separate bowl, mix the plain flour with the semi-skimmed milk until smooth. Pour the batter over the chicken wings, ensuring they are well coated. Let the wings marinate for 10 minutes.
- Place the coated wings in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not crowded. Air fry for 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. The wings should be golden and crispy.
- Flip the wings and air fry for another 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. The wings should be golden and crispy on both sides.
- Remove the wings from the air fryer and let them rest for 5 minutes. This will help them crisp up further.
- Serve the crispy air fryer chicken wings hot, with your favourite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
Tips
- To make it cheaper, use chicken drumsticks instead of thighs.
- Batch-cook the wings and portion them for the week. Store in the fridge for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
- To reheat safely, place the wings in a preheated air fryer at 180°C (160°C fan) for 5-7 minutes, until steaming hot throughout.
